MITA GIACOMINI
shares her solo exhibition
OTHER WORDS FOR BIRDS
July 5-28, 2019
CARNEGIE GALLERY
10 King Street
Dundas, ON

A note from Mita...
Dear Friends,

This summer I will have a solo exhibit — "Other Words for Birds" —at the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas, running July 5 – 28.

Please drop by the gallery Friday July 5, from 7-9:30pm to say hello and enjoy a glass of wine at the opening reception!

The show celebrates those ineffable creature-to-creature encounters we have with the birds that live among us.  As I’ve worked, I’ve tried to appreciate each subject as an individual rather than an instance of its species.  You can preview some of the pieces in the series here on my website. And if you’d enjoy a little more diversion, this Rexroth poem helps explain the most oddly titled piece, and conveys some of the spirit of this project.
Please share the e-vite here with your bird-loving or art-loving friends.

I hope you will come!

With warm wishes,
Mita
