TRACEY LAWKO art at David Kaye Gallery, Toronto with Opening Reception March 16, 2016 6-8 pm
Winds of Change, thread, fabric, mixed metals, paint, 5 x 15 x 1.5 ft.
From a distance, Lawko's rural
landscapes resemble pointillist paintings in the style of Seurat. Up
close however, the textures reveal themselves as collections of
thousands of tiny thread stitches, sewn with a long arm free-motion
machine. --Toronto Life, March 2016

The response to Change Enables Growth has been fabulous!
--Spectacular! --Amazing show! --Amazing work! --Remarkable artistry!
-- Exquisite, as ever! --Blows me away!
This show features large works, which may be a surprise, with each one
using trees as a metaphor for the stages of change. Yes, you will see a
finely stitched landscape, as you have come to expect from me, but also
3-dimensional sculpted work, felt and silk. Let your friends know and
come see what the fuss is all about!
With so many requests for an "after work" viewing, I hope you'll join us:
