This is a great time to bring a friend who is curious about what STUDIO ART QUILT ASSOCIATES is all about.
Bethany will share news of the terrific MY CORNER OF THE WORLD - CANADA Exhibition Call to Entry - and the very FIRST SAQA exhibition open ONLY to our Canadian SAQA members...
Beth will have copies of the MCOTW Prospectus for everyone attending....the deadline for entry is November 30, 2015 for the Exhibition opening May 21, 2016 at the Stratford Perth Museum, Stratford, ON. And our Canadian members may also enter their work in the partner exhibition, MY CORNER OF THE WORLD which is an international Call to Entry open to all SAQA members from around the world! For details of both shows, please visit SAQA's Call To Entry pages
11-11:30 am:
CREATIVE BUFFET - please share your newest work! We all love to see what you have been working on, and sometimes it is a project that you would like to have some help with. You friends at SAQA are always happy to provide some great hints and  supportive guidance/critique that just might help!
The amazing SAQA 25th Anniversary TRUNK SHOW E will be with us to enjoy throughout the day. 51 stunning small works of art from our SAQA friends from across Canada, the US and from around the world really! This is a great reason to bring a friend or two!
12:30 - 1 pm:
Bring your Brown Bag Lunch please...  We will have coffee, tea, lemonade and something yummy for dessert for you.

1-3 pm...

Your Committee members have planned a couple of hours of creative play time for you. There will be several different brands of Embellishing machines at the hall, along with some bits and pieces of felt, yarns, threads and sheers that you can use to try your hand at embellisher art!
Come prepared to PLAY!
We will explore blending and embellishing techniques using felt backing, with merino rovings, threads of all types, and bits and pieces of scraps that arrive at the stitch tables - all experimental pieces will use innovative approaches for embellishing before application of hand or machine stitching.

Bethany will share a handout for further exploration for those who RSVP that they will be attending the afternoon session.
If you have an embellisher and have always wanted to push the envelope a bit and try some projects that involve collage, layering, adding threads and more... today would be a great chance to work with some friends and push toward exploring the machine in ways you couldn't have imagined!
Please bring a small pile of your favourite materials to share, an extension cord and  your embellishing machine or try one of ours! If you have samples of work completed on your embellisher, we would be really happy to have you share what YOU love about the machine.
Hope to see you in Odessa on June 22, 2015...
