Karen Goetzinger has been invited by (106) Gallery to show her installation work "A State of Transparency" during ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"A State of Transparency" is a site specific, on-going work currently consisting of eight ceiling hung panels, ranging in size from 2' x 5' to 10' x 4'.
The ethereal, monochrome panels maintain strong architectural and visionary components and bring to life a city that is most accurately described as the imprint of urban landscapes on individual memory.
1,582 artists from 36 countries and 43 states will show their work in 164 venues within three-square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Mich.
Each artist will compete for the world’s largest prize for art, which will take place Sept. 21-Oct. 9, 2011.
Last year over 465,00 votes were cast by the viewing public. To get a feel for the magnitude of the event click on the You Tube link below.
