Greenwood - Layers in Time, Heather Dubreuil

My contribution to the show La Mémoire de Hudson. Its subject is the heritage home of Greenwood, now a history museum and the base for our town’s annual literary festival.

La Mémoire de Hudson
Exhibition Official Opening
Saturday, January 23,2016
  Willow Place Inn
205 Main Road in Hudson,  QC
Please join us beginning at 6 pm. The show itself was launched last year to mark the 150th anniversary of the town of Hudson. I was one of fifteen local artists who came together to celebrate various aspects of Hudson’s history, and now many of these canvases are on display at Auberge Willow, until the end of March.

If you’d like to read the informative booklet about the show, put together by participant Mona Turner, please check out this website: https://monaturner.wordpress.com/2015/11/19/booklet-on-the-memoires-de-hudson-project/

VERNISSAGE

Also, I am pleased to have had my work chosen for a new show at Galérie Beaux-Arts des Amériques, 3944 rue St. Denis, Montreal.

Syncopated Rhythm was inspired by a quote from Italo Calvino’s book “Invisible Cities”. The quote reads: “[The city’s] secret lies in the way your gaze runs over patterns following one another as in a musical score where not one can be altered or displaced”.

This exciting show is titled Poetry Unspokenand each of the 30 works, all measuring 18 x 18, was inspired by a snippet of poetry, prose or text. It opens this Thursday, January 21, running until March 12. There is a vernissage on Saturday, February 6, from 1 - 5 pm. The gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday.
