SAQA recognizes two Central Canada artists in the latest Journal - just received in your mailbox or online and Sharon Collins has a new Exhibition opening!

Summer 2015 Issue of our SAQA Journal

HEATHER DUBREUIL was recently honoured with a lovely post in the opening pages of the latest issue of SAQA Journal as her beautiful quilt caught the eye of President,Kris Sazaki.... and Heather asked if I would post her note below for everyone...

Connectivity - Port Clyde, H. Dubreuil

I am pleased and honoured that my work has caught the eye of Kris Sazaki, SAQA President. In the recent Summer 2015 SAQA Journal, she has written a commentary on my Cityscapes, and I am delighted with her thoughtful and perceptive remarks. Those who have considered the inherent differences between painting and work in cloth will find food for thought.

Here is a link to the post about the article that  Heather posted as a re-print from the Journal at her own blog...  Blog post, click on SAQA Journal Cover

Also in this Journal Issue, we enjoy seeing a new piece from our friend and SAQA artist MAGGIE VANDERWEIT MEREDITH, Fergus, ON.

You will find a great photo of her piece TO THE OTHER PLACE  in the SAQA Member Gallery, Journal centre pages along with  the story of her love of petroglyphs.

Your work could be there too... please check the Journal print deadlines in the back of the journal and send off your quilt photo/story to editor, Diane Howell at editor@saqa.com.
