Correction: Helena Scheffer/Marion Perrault celebrated today - correctly!

QUEEN OF THE NIGHT, Helena Scheffer and Marion Perrault

This stunning collaborative quilt by our SAQA Central members Helena Scheffer and Marion Perrault was chosen by SAQA for their FOOD FOR THOUGHT traveling exhibition,  which will preview at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky, April - June 2015.

From SAQA News:  Food For Thought This exhibition will allow artists to explore any aspects of food that they find inspirational – from a single piece of fruit, to a still life, to the family table, to the significance of food in culture and the celebration of family milestones and religious holidays.

(My apologies to our artists...I incorrectly named their collaborative quilt ROYAL THISTLE as the quilt juried into the SAQA Food for Thought Exhibition. Their Royal Thistle quilt was indeed in Houston  for the International Quilt Festival however.)

Chloe à la Klimt (45" x 50"), Helena Scheffer
And news from Helena re: her wonderful pet portrait above:

"A portrait of my beloved dog Chloe, inspired by the works of Gustav Klimt. This quilt was juried into "It's Raining Cats and Dogs" at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2014 and will travel for 2 years."
