PAULA BENJAMINSON, friend and former SAQA Central Canada member to teach in London, ON at LONDON INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL in JUNE 2013

Interested in incorporating mixed media elements in your quilts?  Wondering how to use fabric paint and Paintstiks in stitched work? Looking for an exotic design inspiration?

Paula Benjaminson (SAQA Oregon/Canada/Africa) will be teaching a two-day Fabric Stamping Safari workshop on June 12 and 13, 2013 with stamping and sewing, and a one-day workshop on June 14 with stamping only at “Out of Africa 2013” the London International Quilt Festival in London, Ontario.

In the workshop, Paula teaches printing with hand-carved wooden blocks from Oshiwa Designs in Namibia, Paula’s former home in Africa, covering everything from choosing fabric paint, tackling different surface design techniques for preparing backgrounds, embossing velvet, and foiling with the blocks.
