Reminder Central SAQA parlor meeting April 11, 2013

Just a reminder that your commitment to attend this meeting must be by April 4th as the museum wants one week prior notice.

Central SAQA Meeting April 11 at 10:30am
Canadian Museum of Civilization Building
100 Laurier Street
Gatineau, Quebec K1A 0M8
The museum is just across the bridge from Ottawa. We are to meet the visit coordinator in the main Museum of Civilization building, leave our coats there, pick up our name tags, and then she will take us to the curatorial building to see the artifacts. She has to know who is coming 1 WEEK AHEAD so she can have the name tags made. There is a one-week cut off date to indicate you want to come.

We will see some moccasins and clothing made by the Huron-Wendat tribal group. Some are quite extensively embroidered with moose hair tufting and so on. Some are simpler but I thought even those designs had possibilities and you will be able to see their construction. . If we had time we could check out the west coast designs in the main museum after.  There is a cafeteria where we could have lunch  and complete any business portion of the meeting. A big thank you to Joelyn for setting this visit up.
