Finding my copy of Quilting Arts in the mailbox is always good fun, but especially wonderful when there are the quilts or projects of friends featured. Many congratulations to both CATHERINE TIMM and ELAINE QUEHL as their beautiful quilts "QUIET WINTER" and "UNFURLING" are included in Martha Sielman's article on her newest book "Art Quilt Portfolio: THE NATURAL WORLD" available in bookstores and online at the SAQA Book Store. The article runs on pages 34-40.
I was also delighted to find the work of many of our SAQA Central members featured in the DREAM COLLECTIONS that are now up on the SAQA main website, 2012 Benefit Auction pages. Please visit the website soon and walk through all of the collections as you see, just as the curators of the collections have, the diversity, technique, texture, colour and especially the amazing creativity and workmanship in these lovely small quilts. The quilts will be offered starting in September to the lucky bidders in the 2012 Benefit Auction which is the Annual Fundraiser for our Association. The Auction brings much joy to the lucky bidders who have the privilege of displaying these beautiful works in their homes and offices. Click on the link below to go directly to page one of the Dream Collections and perhaps to curate your own collection. Follow the directions at the website and I look forward to seeing your vision:

Page 2: Kit Vincent (also in more than one collection), Helena Scheffer, Mary Pal (two collections)

Congratulations all around for your Auction contributions and for the love of making art and the personal level of skill and talent that went into each piece. Please follow the Auction process online, bid often this fall and have some fun with this annual event.
