CENTRAL CANADA PARLOUR MEETING PLANNED FOR AUGUST 25th

A REMINDER:

SAQA Central Canada Parlour Meetings are a wonderful way for our local and distance SAQA members here in  Central Canada to meet together and have the opportunity to catch up with all of the news about their Solo Shows, upcoming Exhibition entries, SAQA travelling shows that are in the Northern States that YOU can attend if time allows and the chance to share some  of your terrific new work during the CREATIVE BUFFET time at all of our meetings. It is always wonderful to see SAQA friends and have the chance to catch up on all the news in our region at these meetings.

Summer also brings terrific days for stitching and time for ARTFUL PLAY! August 2012 is no exception, and we hope that many of you will plan to come to Brockville on Saturday, August 25th and enjoy a day with KIT VINCENT at her lovely St. Lawrence Riverfront home and share a late summer day with SAQA friends before the rush of the fall season begins.

Kit has so generously offered to host the morning Parlour Meeting gathering of members at her home and those who have alerted Kit by email prior to the meeting date that they would like to enjoy some FLAT DYEING with her after brown bag lunch along the river at her "Dye Shack" will spend the afternoon creating some terrific new dyed cloth to take home and use in future projects. Just the chance to see the river is amazing, and if we ask nicely, a tour of Kit's working Studio might be in the mix.  FYI: An article on Flat Dyeing is in the summer issue of Quilting Arts Magazine for those interested.

The flat dyeing technique demonstration by Kit is available for everyone to observe/enjoy, and some of our members may wish to join Kit and bring the prepared cloth and required supplies that Kit will share with you in a supplies list once you have requested to join the fun ...please email Kit soon at kit@kitvincent.com to reserve a spot at the dye tables.

RSVP for meeting attendance will be directly to Kit Vincent for this meeting. Directions for your drive and the exact address will be shared by Kit.  Please plan to bring something you have been working on for Creative Buffet sharing and your own lunch. Bethany will supply the cold drinks for the meeting. Sun screen is definitely recommended and if you have a folding chair, tuck it in the trunk and bring it along. New members and friends are welcome, but please make sure Kit knows who is coming...

Please visit SAQA.com and sign up for email updates for all of the terrific exhibition Calls to Entry, the news of the SAQA Recruitment Drive this summer, to see the 2012 BENEFIT AUCTION donations and if you have time, create your own DREAM COLLECTION of Auction Quilts to be posted online. Details are at http://www.saqa.com
